SicolaMartin Marketing & Advertising : ep : Vol.1 Issue 6
1. Summer Lovin'
Ah, the sound of flip-flops. That’s how you know summer has really arrived at SicolaMartin. And now that this rhythm is everywhere, we’re wondering what’s not to like about this summer. From the World Cup frenzy to the last dance for the infamous Intel building downtown, we’re loving every minute of it so far. Plus, we’re officially halfway through our very first year of EP. Thanks for sharing all your feedback over the last six months. It’s made a big difference.

We think you’ll really enjoy this issue of extended play, filled with fun little tidbits, like our favorite e-newsletters and two cool new SicolaMartin videos. If you see something interesting, please pass it on.

Cheers!
Steve

2. Research: Faster, Better, Cheaper. by Pete Hayes
If there’s one thing I’ve learned being a marketing professional for 20 years, it’s that I don’t know very much. I’ve learned not to trust my gut. My gut can give me clues, but the answers lay in the marketplace. Too often, we technology marketers make assumptions about our targets, their pain points, our solutions, how they’re relevant, our creative, how it will engage the customer, our Web sites, how they will interact. And so on. There’s no excuse. Especially now that we have powerful, quick and inexpensive ways of reaching our targets online through pre-qualified panels such as e-Rewards.

Over the past year we’ve conducted studies with targets ranging from digital consumers to IT executives. We’re able to have results literally within a week of initiating the entire project. For the price of three traditional focus groups reaching 30 targets, we can touch 300. That’s a 1,000 percent improvement in cost-effectiveness. Remember, we all know it’s true: Great marketing starts and ends with research. Don’t believe me? Ask the marketplace.

4. Flicks Fix
4. Flicks Fix
So you’re known as the world’s greatest gamer. While that’s nice, you’re just as good at running businesses. You just need to change the perception. And that’s where it gets tricky, especially when you’re the second largest — and rapidly growing — semiconductor company in the world.

The answer? The “AMD64. It’s Clear We Mean Business” toolkit, a campaign we recently created for AMD’s worldwide channel marketing team. Delivered in smart-looking clear briefcases to the channel, the toolkit contains customizable print ad templates, joint collateral pieces, online banner ads, training modules and much more. That way, all nine of AMD’s regions are on the same page, delivering the same message.

The toolkits have been a big success. In fact, AMD has asked for a refresh of the campaign, and three new consumer toolkits are rolling out later this summer.

It’s another great way our clients are getting their messages out loud and clear.
