This Twitter thing is really taking off.
While staying with his Grandma and Grandpa a few months ago, my son, 3, was treated to his first trip to Chuck E. Cheese’s. And he loved it. I don’t know exactly what he liked so much, specifically, since I wasn’t there. But he was so enamored by the experience that, even months after his only visit, he was still playing with the branded game tokens and the Chuck E. Cheese’s plastic cups he kept. And pretty regularly, he would say, “I want to go to Chucky Cheese.”
Interesting story in the New York Times: “The company that attacked television advertising is trying to resuscitate it.” One does wonder, though, if TiVo subscribers will find this to be a nuisance, like those dreaded pop-up ads online. That would be bad for TiVo and bad for advertisers.
A lot has been written about the social media campaign for The Watchmen. It’s extremely well-executed, although the film’s only doing modestly well at the box office. But is it really “viral”? I don’t think so, and I’ll explain why.
