Every December, SicolaMartin employees cast their votes for the esteemed and aptly titled 3 I’d Martian Award. This honor is presented to an employee who displays innovation, inspiration, and initiative in their work. The recipient of the Three I’d Martian Award receives $2,500 to spend on a vacation of their choice and an extra week of vacation time in which to spend it.
This year’s 3 I’d Martian is Nada Saidi-Smith, the Account Director for McLane and one of the oldest and most steadfast Martians on our planet! She’s 16 in Martian years, which is nearly unheard of in this business—where people switch jobs like shoes. Nada has worked on Balfour, Blu-ray Disc, Novell, and twice on McLane (once during the first stint with the grocery delivery and food service company in the 90’s and now as Account Director).
To put it simply, people love Nada. Her team loves her, her clients love her, her 4-year-old son Faris and husband Chad love her.
Here’s what her co-workers had to say in favor of Nada on their official 3 I’d Martian ballots:
“She’s a fantastic speaker and presenter.”
“She is confident, charismatic, respectful, and professional.”
“She is a hard worker who is dedicated to the success of the agency and the client.”
“An innovative manager—she allows those under her charge to gain experience by giving them exactly what they need to achieve their own career goals.”
“She is never afraid to confront a situation that isn’t working in order to streamline processes or improve current strategy.”
“She has a great attitude and a smile on her face. She is an inspiration to those around her on a daily basis.”
There’s a good chance her high school yearbook messages and grade school report cards affirm that Nada has always been an admirable worker and lovable person, but unfortunately we couldn’t attain those records for this article!
Congratulations, Nada! You’re the ideal Martian!
