In our program, Media Xperiments, we educate students about all forms of media by encouraging them to be producers rather than consumers. If students can understand that advertising is designed to evoke certain behaviors from them through actually crafting their own messages, it can make a profound difference. It's really a question of media literacy and critical thinking. Not all advertising is inherently bad or good.
