The key differentiator is the way the content is organized on the page. Not only will relevant and related links appear, but they will show relevant images, videos and maps in order to aid consumers with all the information necessary at the time of the search whether that is for self-education purposes or for immediate purchase decisions.
To gauge the differences in search engines, here are examples of a search using Google, Yahoo and Bing. The search term is “information technology.” As you can see, all three search engines have similar placements for ads and articles, and at the top page, indicate other options to click on such as images, maps, shopping and more. There are only minor differences in the results of article content — each search engine organized their content slightly differently.
For companies seeking to advertise on Bing, the process is not new. It’s the standard search and/or content real estate. However, with this new organization and layout, it will be interesting to test against the other search giants, Google and Yahoo.
